ABOUT ME
Dr. Carolyn Regan
I spent my initial years helping children to be successful in school, first as a teacher, then as a School Psychologist, and finally, as a Licensed Psychologist. After leaving my Public School position 12 years ago, I began the practice of Psychotherapy and Counseling and found a new interest in helping people through the complications and difficulties of adulthood.
I continue to foster my interest in working with children as a member of a Child Study Team, when not doing Counseling and Psychotherapy. As the parent of two adopted children, I have had the opportunity to gain insight into the adoption process as well as the parent side of special education. Thus, I have been an advocate from both perspectives and continue in my psychotherapy practice to work with children with a variety of issues and needs, and provide support to their families, as well.
I received my training at Columbia University (MA Secondary Education, M.ED. Counseling Psychology) which focused on Client Centered (Rogerian) Therapy. I received my PhD at
Lehigh University, in School Psychology which centered on Behavioral and Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) therapy. I welcome children, adults, families and couples who are looking for someone to listen and provide direction and support, as they face the challenges ahead.
